Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction, often referred to as SI, provides organized study sessions which are open to any student seeking additional help in their math courses. Students can get together with other studying their content area to compare notes, ask questions and talk about assignments with the SI leader.
SI is led by Math majors who are carefully selected and specifically trained to be SI leaders. Our SI leaders know the material; they know how to guide you through the course. Their job is to help you analyze the lectures you hear, the notes you take and the books you read, and then put it all together in a perspective you can understand.
Our goals are to help students learn and understand the course material to their course grade. In addition, we assist students in improving their study skills. We also provide students with an informal, personal, small group learning experience that helps them feel connected to other students and demonstrates the power of group studying.
